SCIENTIA ET SAPIENTIA PER SPIRITUM • Knowledge and Wisdom Through Spirit
A sacred sodality dedicated to preserving the inner Christian spirituality, sacramental science, and transformative metaphysics of the Antiochian tradition, operating under the British collegiate examining board model with 100% free enrolment.
"You have before you an invitation into an autonomous ecclesiastical learned society and digital scriptorium. It is an invitation to explore the practical and living wisdom preserved within the Antiochian tradition—a legacy of spiritual engineering championed by our revered predecessors, Patriarch Herman Adrian Spruit, Matriarch Meri Spruit, Archbishop Frank Bugge, and Archbishop Leonie Newman. In a fragmented world, our vocation is sacred synthesis: uniting the objective grace of sacramental science with contemplative interiority, open communion, and radical inclusion."

The Herman Adrian Spruit Research Collegium is anchored in nineteen converged historic apostolic lines, uniting Syro-Antiochene, Old Catholic, and Anglican successions with ancient Druidic and Celtic Christian transmissions.
First Hierarch, Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch
Pioneered "sacramental justice," open communion, and co-equal female episcopacy with Matriarch +++Meri Spruit. Synthesized classical sacramental liturgies with New Thought, religious science, and Charles Leadbeater's sacramental science.
First Hierarch and Primate Emeritus, Australian Church of Antioch
Direct protégé of Patriarch Herman and Matriarch Meri Spruit. Consecrated in 1987, receiving the 17 Antiochian lines and the Druidic/Celtic lines from Archmage Ryan and Archdruid Cluthin (19 lines total). Author of St. Michael's Divinity School curricula.
Presiding Archbishop & Primate, Australian Church of Antioch
Installed as Second Primate of the ACOA in 2025. Synthesizes Franciscan contemplative devotion (Minister General, EOSF), seminary leadership as Dean of SMDS, and musical mastery across ten instruments.
Late Primate, The Temple of Ancient Wisdom (TAW)
Revered Australian prelate and scholar who directed The Temple of Ancient Wisdom to document primordial esoteric spirituality. Specialized in birthdate numerology counseling, healing, and meticulous archival preservation.
First Hierarch of the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch & a Grandfather of the Independent Sacramental Movement
Born in the Netherlands with early exposure to Old Catholic piety, Patriarch Spruit emigrated to the United States in 1927. After fruitful pastoral years in Methodist ministry, he held leadership within Ernest Holmes' Religious Science movement, mastering the science of creative mind and affirmative healing.
Through Charles Leadbeater's The Science of the Sacraments and encounters with Archbishop Lowell Wadle, he re-discovered the sacramental altar. Consecrated to the episcopate in 1957 in lineages tracing to Archbishop Joseph René Vilatte, he founded the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch in 1959. Patriarch Spruit consolidated 17 distinct historic apostolic lineages, viewing multiple consecrations sub conditione as an operative mystical act of Christian convergence.
He pioneered "sacramental justice"—extending holy orders co-equally to women, including the 1974 consecration of Jennie Maiereder as one of the first female Catholic bishops in the modern movement. In sacred partnership with Matriarch +++Meri Spruit, he established a balanced leadership model. In 1987, during their historic visit to Australia, Patriarch Herman and Matriarch Meri received the ancient Druidic and Celtic successions from Archdruid Cluthin and Archmage Ryan, committing their guardianship to Archbishops Frank and Chearle Bugge.
First Hierarch of The Australian Church of Antioch (ACOA) & Primate Emeritus
Archbishop Frank Bugge's life bridged practical secular engineering with deep intuitive sensitivity from childhood. Drawn to church liturgy as a teenage organist, he continuously sought deeper spiritual realities beyond exoteric dogma.
In the 1970s, he connected with Rev. Fr. John King of the Liberal Catholic Church, studying pure numerology and expanding this esoteric science under Druid Archmage Ryan into a transformative pastoral counseling tool. His path culminated in extensive personal study directly under Patriarch Herman and Matriarch Meri Spruit.
In 1987, Archbishop Frank and Archbishop Chearle Bugge were consecrated by Patriarch Herman and Matriarch Meri, officially establishing the Australian Church of Antioch with 19 apostolic and druidic lines. As Presiding Archbishop for over four decades, he authored the core curricula for St. Michael's Divinity School, anchoring the Australian church in radical pastoral hospitality.
Presiding Archbishop and Primate of The Australian Church of Antioch (ACOA)
DD, F. Dip FSSB, FCMD, LCMD, L Dip A (Aust), ANZM, ANZT, Hon SCSM, EOSF
Archbishop Glenn W. Taylor's leadership embodies a synthesis of unwavering pastoral service, theological scholarship, and musical mastery across ten instruments. As founding Minister General of the Ecumenical Order of St. Francis (TOR), known in religion as Brother Paul Francis (eosf), his ministry unites contemplative Franciscan simplicity with apostolic order.
Beginning in 1972 with three decades in the Anglican Church, he transferred his Franciscan vows to Primate Frank Bugge in 2002. Ordained Deacon and Priest in 2002, he was consecrated Bishop of Tasmania in 2004, elevated to Archbishop of Tasmania in 2006, and formally installed as Presiding Archbishop and Primate of the Australian Church of Antioch on February 16, 2025.
Archbishop Taylor serves as Dean of St. Michael's Divinity School (SMDS), on the Board of Studies for St. Bonaventure College of Franciscan Studies, and as author of the ANZCA string syllabus.
Dip. Th, LSMDS • Late Primate, The Temple of Ancient Wisdom (TAW)
Her Grace, Archbishop Leonie Newman (1951–2024) was a prominent Australian spiritual leader whose devotion to primordial esoteric spirituality left an indelible mark on independent sacramental communities worldwide.
Ordained to the Priesthood in 2009, consecrated to the Episcopate on September 28, 2014, and elevated to Archbishop in 2019, she held significant synodical responsibilities, including Secretary to the Synod and Assistant to the Dean of SMDS.
Central to her legacy was her leadership of The Temple of Ancient Wisdom (TAW), documenting ancient esoteric teachings. Her pastoral ministry specialized in birthdate numerology counseling, traditional spiritual healing, and meticulous archival stewardship, providing crucial spiritual guidance to the HASRC during its foundational period.

The Herman Adrian Spruit Research Collegium (HASRC) is an autonomous, not-for-profit ecclesiastical learned society, research scriptorium, and educational ministry, erected by Archiepiscopal Decree as a voluntary religious sodality under the canonical jurisdiction of its Founder and Provost, operating in sacramental fellowship with the Australian Church of Antioch (ACOA).
HASRC is strictly a religious and metaphysical institute of sacred learning, not a secular university or civil college. Its curricula, certificates, Licentiates, and Fellowship ranks are exclusively ecclesiastical and non-secular in character, conferred under the inherent apostolic and canonical authority of the Provost and the Collegium for ministerial formation, spiritual progression, and theological scholarship.
HASRC does not claim, nor does it seek, secular civil governmental accreditation. Its credentials are designed for ministerial and sacred-scholarly purposes, not for secular civil employment or civil university credit transfer. Nothing taught, offered, or celebrated by the Collegium is medical, psychological, counseling, or other regulated professional advice or treatment.
Grounding the Collegium's own research, syllabi, and contemplative praxis in the authentic inner-Christian and metaphysical charism of our spiritual predecessors. This practical, operative approach focuses on spiritual engineering—developing the specific rites, meditations, and altar technologies evolved from our direct lineage.
Maintaining transparency of primary sources, bibliographic integrity (APA 7th Edition), and absolute respect for the free will and spiritual well-being of every participant. All teachings are offered in the spirit of intellectual honesty and sacred stewardship.
Ensuring that metaphysical rites, meditation protocols, affirmative prayer modalities, and energetic altar techniques are taught strictly within a sound, responsible ethical framework, as instruments of personal illumination and conscious evolution.
Engaging constructively with the wider Independent Sacramental Movement across theological differences, religious and secular academia, and interfaith communities, positioning our research as an open contribution to global human spiritual development.
